This is a very basic guacamole recipe and our go to for a fast and delicious appetizer or snack.
This recipe is ready in 10 minutes and has only 5 ingredients! How easy is that? Guacamole is a favorite in our house and we make it very often, either as an accompaniment for meals, as a snack, or as an appetizer when we are having some friends over. Can you imagine the happiness when our children gave it a try and loved it? Yes! For this recipe we like to use perfectly ripe avocados. When you go to the store to buy them, look for avocados that are brown and firm to the touch. Another trick is to remove the stem and if it’s green - grab it and buy it, it is good to go, but if it is brown, it means it’s too ripe and you should look for another. Sometimes when not in a rush, I will just get green avocados and let them ripen on the counter with other fruits. You can also store the ripe avocados in the fridge for a few days, even up to one week, to preserve them longer. So let’s do this quick and delicious guacamole recipe.
Slice the Avocado in half, discart the pit and spoon it in a bowl.
Add the salt and lime juice. Using a fork, mash the avocado to your liking. You can leave it chunky or mash a little more for that smooth texture.
Mix in the cherry tomatoes and cilantro. Season to taste with additional salt and lime juice.
Serve immediately or cover it and refrigerate it for 1 hour.
