Grilling season or not, this salmon burger is full of flavor, simple and delicious.
Salmon is one of the healthiest foods, rich in Omega-3’s and a good source of protein. So why not create a salmon burger? After multiple tries and errors, finally I have found the best way to prepare them. The trick here is to process some of the salmon in the food processor to create a paste which will help bind together the rest of the ingredients along with the chopped salmon. No need for breadcrumbs or eggs, this salmon burger recipe comes out light and full of flavor while being naturally gluten-free. For our recipe we like to use some herbs, like dill and scallions but also capers. Capers have a bold and tangy flavor and in our salmon burger recipe they enrich the overall taste. Serve these burgers as usually on a gluten-free bun with your choice of toppings or with a green salad. So let’s begin, shall we?
Cut salmon into small cubes and put a third in a bowl of a food processor. Process until it becomes a paste. Scrape the sides if needed to help with blending.
In a medium bowl, add the processed salmon and the rest of the ingredients and mix very well.
Using your hands, shape four burgers.
Pan Seared method: Heat the oil in a pan until hot and fry them around 3 min then flip and cook for another 2-3 min. Make sure not to overcook them.
Grill method: Heat the grill on high, brush some oil on burgers and grill around 3-4 min, flip and grill another 3 min.
Serve immediately on a bun with avocado, tomatoes and red onions, or with a green salad.
